It is clear that throughout the novel, Elie and his father both face extreme alterations in their mental, physical, and emotional state. The atrocities of the Holocaust changed who they are, and determined who they would become. The Holocaust is considerably the worst tragedy ever to occur in modern history, and we must mourn the victims whose identities became fragmented. In the sub-pages of this tab, I will analyze both Elie and Mr. Wiesel's evolution in character.
